Microchipping
Why microchip?
Microchipping pets is an essential step in ensuring their safety and well-being. A microchip is a small, implantable device that stores important identification information, allowing pets to be easily reunited with their owners if lost or separated. Unlike collars or tags that can be removed or lost, a microchip is a permanent form of identification, providing a reliable means of returning pets home. In the event that a pet gets lost, animal shelters, veterinarians, and rescue organizations can scan the microchip and contact the owner, greatly increasing the chances of a successful reunion.
The importance of microchipping also extends to preventing pet theft. Many stolen pets are abandoned or sold, and microchips provide a simple way for authorities to identify stolen animals and return them to their rightful owners. Additionally, microchipping offers peace of mind to pet owners, knowing that their furry companions are always traceable, even if they get lost in unfamiliar areas. The process of microchipping is quick, safe, and minimally invasive, making it a cost-effective and humane solution for responsible pet ownership. By microchipping pets, owners take an important step in protecting their pets and ensuring their safety in the unpredictable world around them.
We can implant a microchip very easily during most appointments or during surgery while the pet is anesthetized. We offer 2 brands of microchips, both are searchable in the AAHA microchip lookup database:
